Caporal Etienne SAINT PAUL (1)

Le premier message de l'année 2017 vient de Grande-Bretagne : Cathy recherche des renseignements sur un soldat français du 147e RI capturé en 1915 et détenu au camp de Crossen an der Oder.

Elle ajoute que son grand-père, soldat britannique, fut lui-même détenu dans ce camp en 1918 et Eienne SAINT-PAUL, le soldat français, devait avoir sympathiser avec lui, puisqu'il lui avait donné en souvenir un petit tableau qu'il avait peint et qui représentait la tour de garde du camp.

Deux fiches au nom d'Etienne sont présentes dans la base de la Croix-rouge internationale et une au nom de son grand-père John Brayshaw KAY.

Cathy souhaiterait savoir s'il serait possible de retrouver trace de la famille d'Etienne. Voilà plusieurs années qu'elle recherche cette famille.

Coïncidence : le nom du Caporal Etienne SAINT PAUL apparaissait sur le blog, il y a 8 ans, parmi les premiers noms de prisonniers du 147e RI relevés sur la Gazette des Ardennes.

C'est alors parti pour des recherches, sans l'aide de Sherlock Holmes, mais avec celle de Jules, Jules MAIGRET.
